The journey began in the fall of 2015, when a small group of dynamic women endeavored to form a new graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® to be of “Service to All Mankind” in Henrico County, Virginia and its surrounding counties.

 

With a goal to reclaim inactive sorority members as well as increase the presence of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® in the community, the vision and potential to establish a new graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® was in clear view. To help ascertain the need for a chapter in the target area, these ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha reached out to other Alpha Kappa Alpha members residing in Eastern Henrico County, Charles City County and the New Kent County communities.
